The H.F. and Maude E. Marchant Memorial Library in Scranton was a recent recipient of a grant.

The Jefferson Rotary Club awarded them with a $350 grant that Library Director Tammy Ross says was used to purchase a mobile cabinet. She points out that this storage area includes puzzles, craft items and larger books that patrons or the public can now use without having to ask permission to do so. She specifically addresses that puzzles promote socialization, teamwork and problem solving, while crafting supports an individual’s creativity.

The Jefferson Rotary Club is able to make these grants available from its annual Banquet and Charity Auction that is held in November. This year’s event is slated for November 21st at the Greene Room Events Center at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson.
