Two AC/GC softball seniors were named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association’s Softball Academic All-State Team.

To be considered for the team, a senior softball player must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher, an ACT score of 27 or higher, and a class rank in the top 15% for 3A/4A/5A or top 20% for 1A/2A, with nominations generally being submitted by each team’s head coach. For the Chargers, Paige Van Meter and Jayla Hoover were selected for the 2025 Academic All-State Team. Van Meter spent a lot of time in the outfield, and came up with some clutch hits for the Chargers as well. Hoover spent her time split between the mound and second base, and also had some great hits when she was at bat.
