The Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce is seeking to monetarily support the Dallas County Conservation Board in order to rebuild an area along the Raccoon River Valley Trail.

According to Chamber President Erin Milroy, the organization has started a “Bridge Us Back” campaign with a goal to fundraise $100,000 for Adel’s lighted bridge that was damaged from a man-made fire by three teenagers on May 12th. Milroy shares that the chamber wanted to assist the Dallas County Conservation Board with rebuilding the bridge, as it’s a huge staple in the community.

Milroy wants to hear from chamber members and how the damage from the bridge has impacted their business. She says that members can fill out an application to be turned in, or they can voice their concerns at the Adel Committee of the Whole Meeting this Tuesday or the city council meeting on Tuesday, August 12th. Dallas County Conservation Director Curt Cable is appreciative of the chamber’s donation.

“Receiving that extra funding would go a long way in showing the community support. Erin Milroy with the Partner Chamber, she’s been instrumental (and) she’s really hopped into her new role and just kind of took off, and she’s been great to work with throughout this process of trying to find the funding (and) we appreciate their help.”

Cable acknowledges the total cost to fix the bridge is estimated at $896,000, but the fundraiser from the Adel Partners Chamber is a good boost. He adds that if everything goes as planned, then the bridge is scheduled to reopen in May of 2026.
