Perry softball introduced a new head coach in 2025.  Emma Olejniczak returned to her alma mater.  The first year didn’t meet the hope for wins, but she was proud of the girls.

“Overall, I’m happy with how the girls competed.  I don’t feel like we ever truly gave a game away to anyone and that was kind of our biggest thing.  We’re going to put our best foot forward and we might not be better than some of those top teams but, we’re going to compete and play the game the right way.”

Perry went 7-13-1 and finished in sixth in the Heart of Iowa.  Rainouts washed out numerous competitions as Perry only played 21 games.  Coach Olejniczak would like to see the number of games grow on the schedule.

“Find some area schools that we don’t necessarily compete with all the time will be fun for the girls.”

The Jayettes were eliminated in the opening round of the 4A playoffs by Boone 4-0.
