The Greene County Medical Center has announced the hiring of a new provider.

According to the medical center, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Alec Antanaitis will be working in the Family Medicine Clinic in mid-September. The medical center says he is originally from Toledo, Ohio and chose to follow in his mother’s footsteps, as she was a nurse. 

Then, the medical center goes on to state that Antanaitis was working in the Intensive Care Unit in Las Vegas, Nevada and El Paso, Texas until he was in a car accident and had to put his career on hold. According to the medical center, Antanaitis had a new passion and became an ARNP and knew he wanted to settle in the Midwest. 

Antanaitis told the medical center that he wanted to work in Iowa and after three clinical rotations at the Manning Regional Healthcare Center he grew to like the people of the state and the environment as well. 

Antanaitis has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bowling Green State University and his APRN degree is from the Chamberlain College of Nursing. He will start to see patients in October. Contact the Family Medicine Clinic to schedule an appointment at 515-386-0500.
