There’s lots to do this tonight and tomorrow in the city of Grand Junction.

50107 Summerfest kicks up this evening as co-organizer Linda Hoffman says there is a carnival from 4-10pm at the former school lot and wristbands are available for $20 either at a Jagged Edge or at the beer tent, which also opens at 4pm, and the ride wristbands are good through tomorrow. She points out a new feature is the addition of two water slides, one mainly for adults and a smaller one for kids.

Additionally, Hoffman says the beer tent is open until midnight, along with free yard games until 10pm, and the musical performance of Burnin’ Sensations will play from 7-11pm, also at the former school lot.

Tomorrow, Hoffman notes that the festivities begin with a softball tournament at 8am and the 5K fun run/walk starts at 9am at the Fouch Agriservice building. She states that a petting zoo with “cow pie bingo” will be from 9am-3pm, along with the carnival, water slides and face painting starts at 10am. Hoffman says the parade starts at 10:30am at 15th and Bennett Streets and then the vendors open at 11am.

The Lions Club Car Show takes place from 11am-2pm, the beer tent opens at noon with musician and singer Brandon Congdon from noon-3pm and Jessica Heaning from 3:30-6:30pm. Hoffman points out that bingo will be from 1-3pm at the First Presbyterian Church and a bags tournament starts at 3pm. She adds that the evening musical entertainment will be Toast3r Rocks from 8-11pm, featuring Grand Junction’s own Steve Radke.
