Today is the last day of Iowa’s Tax Free Weekend.

When anyone purchases clothing items from stores today that cost under $100, no sales tax will be applied. Some items that aren’t included are handkerchiefs, sporting equipment, watches, watchbands, jewelry, umbrellas, skis, swim fins, roller blades or skates, and any special clothing or footwear designed primarily for athletic activity, protective use and not usually worn for everyday activities. 

Any store that sells clothing items that are open today are required to participate in this program that the Iowa Department of Revenue established, which is held every first Friday and Saturday of August. Click here for more information.
