For those interested in organic farming, there’s a field day with Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach coming up at their field in Greenfield.
The Neely-Kinyon field has been producing organic crops as part of a conventional Long-Term Agroecosystem Research project, and has been the main site research site for ISU Extension. Researchers will go over the differences between conventional and organic crops, along with soil health and foliage production. The events will be from 4-6pm on August 26th, with Dr. Kathleen Delate, Dr. Sabrina Ruis and Dr. Shelby Gruss all on hand to answer questions and share information. A dinner of local and organic foods will follow the field day.
