A special event is happening later this week in Jefferson.
The public is invited to a signing event with Greene County Development Corporation and Ames Regional Economic Alliance (AREA) on Wednesday at 7:30am at the former Forge building on the downtown square in Jefferson. According to AREA Economic Development Outreach and Government Relations, as well as the new director for GCDC Greg Piklapp, this event marks a milestone as Greene County becomes the latest partner with AREA. He says this is a collaborative effort to drive not only economic growth, but also strengthen the workforce and support community development.
GCDC President Scott Weber is excited to have AREA assist with their organization and talks about an additional gathering that they are doing with AREA to help introduce them to the county.
“We’re going to call it ‘The Greene County Road Trip.’ And so they’re going to get a bus and get members of their organization, and the GCDC Board and some community members and we’re going to tour Greene County. And we’re going to show them what those communities are, and how great they are and the leaders there. So that’ll be kind of one of the things, and we’re going to have Facebook and social media, all that stuff going right along with it so people can see what we have going on.”
Wednesday’s event is free and open to the public, with refreshments to be served.
