Two camps are coming up in Perry to help those interested in improving their softball skills. Impact Fastpitch, which is owned by Emma Olejniczak, will host a pitching and skills camp on August 8 and 10.
“We just have the ability to do camps all over but, I think the main reason why I love doing it is I want to build softball in Perry.”
The Perry softball coach, who played Division 1 with numerous schools, will be joined by other D1 softball players.
“I don’t ever act like I know all avenues of the game so it’s always really cool to bring in other instructors and you know kind of learn from them too cuz we’re always learners. My assistant and I are always looking to get better.”
The pitching camp will feature Sarah Schaefer, who pitched at the University of Michigan. Joining the skills camp will be a trio of Drake softball players Lydia Olejniczak, Heidi Wheeler, and Sami Miller.
Both camps are divided by two different age groups 8 to 11 and 12-18 years old. Each day will take place at the Perry Little League Fields.
