The AC/GC Chargers football team just started practices for the season, and are looking forward to the first game in a few weeks.
Game one of the season is at home, with the Panorama Panthers coming to town in non-district play. The Chargers beat the Panthers last season 42-11. The next game is on the road, as the team heads to Corning to take on the Southwest Valley Timberwolves, who they beat 40-7 last season. Game three will be in Mount Ayr against the Raiders, a team that the Chargers have beaten four times in the last two years, with the last game being a 41-14 postseason victory.
Game four is another non-district game, as the Chargers head to Madrid to take on the Tigers. AC/GC lost the last game between the two 21-14 in postseason action in 2023. The fifth game will be at home, as the team hosts the Central Decatur Cardinals in the second ever match up between the two teams. The next game will be on the road once more, this time against the AHSTW Vikings in Avoca. The final game of the regular season will be against Riverside, a team that AC/GC took down in a close 50-42 game in their last match up.
