Tight End Jesse Miller
2023 Greene County High School graduate Jesse Miller is a third year tight end on the U. of South Dakota football team. He talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the receiving part of being a tight end. “The receiving game is one of the biggest challenges the coaches had for me to improve upon this Spring and I think I really focused in on that. Obviously, there are things I could do better, but coming out of high school we didn’t throw the ball too much. We ran the ball and “Pound the Stone” was our motto, so there was a lot of gray area that I had when it came to the receiving game. The coaches challenged me to really improve on that and this Fall Camp will be great to improve on that, so I’m excited and definitely have taken huge strides in the receiving game.”
USD opens its season on Saturday, Aug. 30 in Ames vs. the Iowa State Cyclones. Tyler Miller, Jesse’s older brother, is a sixth year senior and offensive lineman at ISU. The Miller family and Shine On Design have designed t-shirts and sweatshirts celebrating the brothers’ teams playing each other. Details are available through Aug. 13 at the Miller Family Facebook page or from Shine On Design in Jefferson.
