Registration for Youth Flag Football in Greene County is now open through Greene County Youth Athletic Association (GCYAA). After years of youngsters below seventh grade playing tackle football, organizers are switching to flag football. The National Football League (NFL) is making a major push for schools, communities, and states to make the switch.

Flag football in Greene County is for those in third through sixth grade with a $50 registration fee for all ages if registered by Aug. 11. There is a $20 late fee assessed if registration is after Aug. 11. Registration ends Aug. 15.

In addition, there is a $25 non-volunteer fee to help encourage parents to volunteer to help the boys and girls playing flag football. A $10 discount will be for multi-athletes per family. See website www.gcyaa.org for more information.
