The Perry School Board met on Monday night.

Superintendent Clark Wicks said the Board approved to renew the contract to transfer 90 percent of state funding for special education funding with the Area Education Agency to the AEA for services as presented. He explained that the Board also approved to renew the sharing agreement for swimming with Panorama High School, along with revisions to the nondiscrimination policy for language changes and the 2025-26 student activities department handbook as presented.

Wicks added that several other topics were mentioned during the meeting. He thanked Congressman Zach Nunn for coordinating donations to the school district from Tyson after they closed the plant in Perry last year. He said the district received meal carts for all three buildings and a six month supply of breakfast sandwiches for students.

Other updates that Wicks gave included introducing the new School Resource Officer with the Perry Police Department, with Landon Guehse, and the two playgrounds at the elementary school are still anticipated to be completed when the school year starts on August 25th.
