Tomorrow is a special program to highlight one of the destination areas in Greene County.
The Grand Junction Public Library is hosting an event on the 100th anniversary of Spring Lake Park tomorrow at 2pm. Library Director Alan Robinson will lead the program on the history of how this area went from a railroad gravel pit to 200-acre resort in 1925 that had lots of amenities including cabins, a dance hall and bandstand, along with a community kitchen, roller skating rink, baseball diamond and a swimming beach with two water slides, a bath house and a diving tower.
Tomorrow’s event is free and open to the public, with it being sponsored by the Greene County Libraries Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors.
