Greene County 4-H’ers are already making an impact at the Iowa State Fair.
Greene County ISU Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says there were nine 4-H’ers who entered their horse and came home with 16 champions. She talks about the effort from those 4-H’ers who started off the state fair for Greene County.
“And I just cannot say enough of how well and how hard working those horse exhibitors were down at the state fair. They were there to support each other the entire time. I’ve talked with a couple of the families and they were just so excited for everybody’s achievements, but also were there to help them when they struggled. So I commend them on a job well done.”
Hardaway points out that there were also 32 static exhibits and two communication working exhibits that qualified for the state fair. She notes that there was also one poultry and rabbit exhibitor, along with 22 livestock exhibitors, which includes 12 sheep from Greene County 4-H’ers. Hardaway is excited to see how well all of the 4-H’ers do at the fair. Click the link below to see the full horse show results.
