A Perry man was arrested for alleged attempted murder.
According to court documents, Perry Police Officers responded to a call of a disturbance just before 8:30pm this past Wednesday. Court documents show that the alleged suspect left the scene before the officers’ arrival. Officers later found the subject, 30-year-old Jordan Todd, and a physical altercation took place as Todd resisted from being handcuffed. The criminal complaint states that the two officers eventually were able to place handcuffs on Todd’s wrists, but not before the officers sustained several injuries.
Court documents report that during the investigation, the victim from the disturbance claimed that a verbal argument turned physical as Todd allegedly placed his hands around the victim’s neck. The victim feared for their life and told officers that Todd said, “What are your last words?” Court documents show that the victim’s minor child and a friend walked into the room and saw Todd standing over the victim and then he fled the scene.
The affidavit states that Todd was arrested after being treated for injuries with a Class B Felony for attempted murder, a Class C Felony for willful injury-causing serious injury, two aggravated misdemeanors for child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor for domestic abuse assault – impeding air/blood flow, an aggravated misdemeanor for first degree harassment, and two serious misdemeanors for interference with official acts-bodily injury. He was booked into the Dallas County Jail where he remains under a $250,000 cash only bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
