The leader of the Dallas County Conservation Board discusses that the next step with the Raccoon River Valley Trail is on the horizon.

Director Curt Cable tells Raccoon Valley Radio that phase four of the bridge and trail project, which stretches from Adel to Ortonville, will have temporary work done until the construction workers in the early fall. He states the goal is for city crews to open the two smaller bridges on the west side of town along the Raccoon River Valley Trail, and avoid going around the closures.

Cable is hoping that this can provide a temporary solution to riders on the trail, as they’ve been out of commission since this past winter. He’s anticipating the bridges to be open by mid-August, and then the construction crew will return to finish phase four in September.
