Degan Miller
“Get low, fire off, go get ’em” is the description Greene County football player Degan Miller uses to play defensive end. The high school junior is vying for an every game starting position for the Rams after seeing spot duty on the varsity the past two seasons. He’s a two-time State Wrestling Tournament veteran, placing fifth as a sophomore at 165 lbs. in Class 2A. A nagging shoulder issue still isn’t 100 percent he told Raccoon Valley Radio, but he’s determined to battle his way through it.
Miller likens tackles in football to takedowns on the wrestling mat and in his opinion, every football player should also wrestle.
The Rams begin official practice today after attending football camps in Jefferson and Grimes last week. The season opener is on Friday, Aug. 29 on the road vs. the Boone Toreadors. All Greene County football games can he heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
