The AC/GC Chargers cross country teams got their season started with their first practice of the year yesterday.

Head Coach Rick Blake says that the teams are a little smaller than last year, but that he’s got some returners that will be key in helping lead the team towards the postseason. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio about a junior he thinks will do extremely well.

“One runner I’m really expecting a lot out of this year is Preston Kent. He was one of our top runners last year as a sophomore, and has worked really hard this summer, put a lot of miles in. I think that he’s definitely going to take a big step forward this year. So I’m excited to see that for him. And so that’ll be good.”

Blake mentions that there are two other juniors on the boys team that will be key for the season, with Jameson Pfrang and Cameron Mozingo. He adds that sophomore Stetson Ellis will be a name to keep an eye on in his class.
