As the volleyball all skills camp has concluded and the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs volleyball team officially begin practices, head coach Meg Jackson of the Mustang volleyball team reflected on the all skills camp and the joys of working with the massive amount of kids that attended the volleyball camp.
“We’ve been doing this for a few years and it’s just kind of gotten bigger and bigger. We had about 275 girls in the gym from kindergarten through 12th grade and the younger ones know the older ones by name they are as invested I am. I’m starting to learn that I can pick out about every single girl that comes to camp when I see him out and about in town it’s just we’re hoping to foster just a huge community feel in our program so that everyone stays interested. You always want people in the stands. We want people in the stands to come and see the girls and see them play, you know, live volleyball and that’s good for our youth to see it too and we just want them to kind of come and love on the girls too like they did it all week at camp.”
