A few weeks following the Iowa Highway 141 Garage Sales, the Perry Merchants Group is spearheading localized sales promotion in the community this weekend.

According to Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti, the Merchants Group is holding their annual Sidewalk Sales along 2nd Street in Perry on Friday and Saturday. She notes that this was a tradition several years ago with “Ridiculous Days,” which was revamped last year and given the new name of “Sidewalk Sales.” Pasutti explains the reason the Merchants Group waits a few weeks after the Highway 141 Sales to do their own event.

“There’s just a lot going on. So this is kind of a chance to stand out a little bit. We put it together with the Sip and Shop, and so you never really know what you might find. It could be some display items, it could be some discounted things that maybe just didn’t sell from last season or whatever the case may be. So I think everyone’s getting things ready to go, and so we’ll see what everyone has.”

Pasutti reveals that nine businesses will be participating and that the general time frame will be from 9am-5pm, but will vary depending on the organization’s hours of operation.
