The Perry Public Library is welcoming people out to create cards that can be used year-round.
According to Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer, the month of August features participants designing Fun-Fold and All-Occasion Cards for their Paper Crafting program. She explains that most cards are tied to a certain holiday or theme, but these ones will allow people to use them anytime. Farmer mentions that Friends of the Perry Public Library President Kathy Miller will lead the program, and reveals how she came up with the idea.
“Kathy is always keeping in mind that idea that it’s good to have a box of all-occasion cards. Now you might be mid-year thinking ‘oh, I need to kind of store up some more cards,’ so you’ll be doing some handcrafting of all-occasion cards, and then the famous fun-fold.”
Farmer shares the program is happening for free inside the library community room on Saturday from 10:30am-12:30pm. She encourages people to register due to space being limited, and adds that guests can stay in the afternoon for Saturday Crafternoons that will allow them to make do-it-yourself crafts from 12:30-4:30pm.
