
The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.
Three Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management summer interns, Torin Timmerman, Avery Sebern, and Henry Souhrada, gave a presentation to the board about the projects they worked on and lessons learned during their internship. Also, Dallas County Engineer Al Miller shared that approximately 38 miles of roadway has been resurfaced so far in 2025 and 14 culverts have been completed.
Items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution to call for a special election on November 4th for the issuance to not exceed $60.3 million in General Obligations Bonds, a request to hold the 99 County Bible Reading Marathon on the Dallas County Courthouse Lawn on September 4th through the 6th and the 8th through the 10th. Then the board appointed Chris Costa and Alice Wicker to the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority, a resolution to accept 17 representatives to the Iowa State Association of Dallas County, and an Iowa Primary Care Behavioral Health Services contract for $250,000 as presented.
