The Greene County School Board met Wednesday night in regular session.

The Board approved seven student driver permits and seven fundraisers as presented. They also approved the Elementary and Middle School student handbooks for the 2025-26 school year, along with the Bus Driver and Coaches and Directors 2025-26 handbooks. Next, the Board approved the updated meal prices for an adult lunch to $5 and an adult breakfast for $3, re-appointing Superintendent Brett Abbotts as the Level I Investigator and 21st Century Rehabilitation to provide sports medicine coverage for $8,000.

The Board also tabled purchasing a new sound system for Linduska Field after the original motion to buy a new system failed for lack of a second. They also approved the first reading of several board policies and then waived the second for final adoption, all as presented.

During the Superintendent’s Report, Abbotts said that 700 new chairs were delivered to the Elementary School to replace all of the student seating, and 92 Clever Touches were also installed at all school buildings. He noted that all new clocks and alert systems have been installed at the Elementary School, the long jump areas have been replaced at Linduska Field and the high jump area will be done soon, along with a new track. Finally, Abbotts said the sound system in the high school gym has been installed.
