One of the two guys vying for the Perry football starting quarterback position is sophomore Michael Bahtagic. As a freshman, he played sparingly on special teams. This year his role will be increased.
Bahtagic described his play style as duel threat. He is being applauded for his leadership by his coaches and teammates.
While never attempting a pass during a varsity game, he does have his favorite targets at practice: juniors Rylan Modlin and Owen Zander.
Junior, Ian Fisher, is the other Bluejay fighting for the QB spot.
Even if Bahtagic isn’t the signal caller, he is expected to have a big role at cornerback on defense.
