Greene County volleyball senior Calleigh Fitzpatrick talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the upcoming season. “I’m really excited because of taking on more of a leadership role and it’s really fun to see all the younger girls coming into practice and it’s super exciting that I’m the oldest girl now. I get to know them what Greene County volleyball is all about.”
Fitzpatrick was asked what will need to come together for this team to be successful after seven seniors graduated from the 2024 squad. “I think we’re going to have to mesh together and a lot of us are good friends, so I think that already brings the team close together. We’ll need to trust each other because a lot of us didn’t play together last year, so trust in each other will enable us to grow.”
Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s team has some scrimmages this week and next with the official season opener on Aug. 26 at Dallas Center-Grimes High School.
