Tuesday will be a big day for Guthrie County Conservation and the Panora Public Library.
Earlier this year, Conservation Director Brad Halterman said that the Conservation Department and Panora Public Library were partnering to install a Story Walk on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio what a Story Walk is.
“Story Walk is kind of just what it sounds like. It’s a story that you can read along while you walk. Picture and book pages are put in these frames that are along the trail, along with different activity type of prompts and things to do. The story panels follow along and as you walk you stop and read the panel and read the book.”
The Grand Opening for the Story Walk will take place at Pedal-In in Panora on Tuesday at 6pm. There will also be free ice cream available for those attending the event.
