The leader of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Activities Department praises the student-athletes involved in fall sports, who have displayed their dedication throughout the summer.

Activities Director Rod Wiebers tells Raccoon Valley Radio that ADM thrives on having high expectations, and the students challenge that head-first. He says it’s been a joy returning to work as he loves witnessing the football team practicing, going in the gym to see the volleyball players, as well as the cross country runners racking up miles early in the morning. Wiebers believes that student-athletes will continue to grow and he’s excited about making the transition to the new high school in a couple of years.

“It’s just a ton of things that we look and say ‘not only in the future, but in the present.’ You talked about our kids and what they’re doing now and how that’s going to build some great traditions to when we open that new high school in two years and continue all those things, but just a testament to all the great people we have in our community.”

Students return to school on August 25th, as the first volleyball game is on the 28th, the first football game follows on the 29th, and the opening cross country meet is on the 30th.
