After getting acclimated to wearing full pads, the Greene County football team has its first full contact practice this morning. Coach Caden Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio the players have started with helmets, t-shirts and shorts, then added shoulder pads, and now it’s full pads.
The coach talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the running back position. Seniors Aiden Bardole and Christopher Daugherty are the top two at this time. “Aiden and Chris are both obviously very important parts of our defense. On the offensive side they are probably going to split time at running back, which is great so they can help keep each other fresh and maybe minimize some wear and tear rather than one have to go both ways full time. We’ll have some other guys rotate in there, too, but those two will be carrying the bulk of the load. Both are extremely tough kids and extremely strong!”
The Rams open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 29 in Boone vs. the Toreadors. All Greene County varsity football games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
