An Auburn, Nebraska man was arrested for an alleged incident in Greenfield last week.
According to court documents, 23 year old Colin Haynes was seen at Greenfield City Park on August 3rd by three other individuals in the park. The three witnesses told law enforcement that about 11:25pm, a white Ford car with no license plates, a missing front bumper, and a “student driver” sticker on the rear bumper stopped at the restroom facilities, and an individual – later identified as Haynes – went in, and then later returned to the car and left the park.
Court documents show that law enforcement eventually found the vehicle at the Casey’s General Store parking lot in Greenfield. The criminal complaint states that the vehicle was reported stolen from Lincoln, Nebraska and Haynes, along with his passenger Tricia Daniels, claimed to not know that the car was stolen.
Court documents state that Daniels told law enforcement that Haynes picked her up in Omaha, Nebraska, and they’d been slowly making their way to Des Moines the previous couple of days. She added that Haynes had been in an accident in Omaha, which is why the front bumper is missing, and that he had disposed of the license plates during their travels.
Haynes was arrested and charged with second degree theft, a Class D Felony and he was booked into the Adair County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it becomes available.
