Later this week, Greene County ISU Extension is hosting a crucial workshop for the agriculture industry.
Office Manager Cyndi Adamson says the “Farmland Leasing Arrangements: 2025 Better Leases, Better Relationships” class is taking place on Wednesday from 9-11am at the Greene County Extension Office in Jefferson. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio this program is important because it allows farmland owners, tenants and others involved in a farming operation the opportunity to ask questions and get more information about farmland leasing.
“The 2025 Annual Survey of Cash Rental Rates for Iowa farmers shows that rates decreased on an average by 2.9 percent in ‘25 to $271 per acre. This is the first decline in cash rent since 2019, after a peak of $279 per acre the previous two years of this survey.”
Adamson points out some of the topics that ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist Joseph Lensing will cover include current market outlook, rental rates, farmland value surveys, among others. The cost to attend is $20 per person and space is limited. Contact the Extension Office at 515-386-2138 to sign up.
