The Panorama School Board met in regular session Monday night.

The Board discussed and approved a resolution ordering an election on the issuance of $19.6 million in general obligation school bonds, along with spring extracurricular contracts, and keeping Ehlers and Cooney as legal counsel for the 2025-26 year. Panorama Superintendent Kasey Huebner tells Raccoon Valley Radio why the Board approved the bond resolution.

“I think that the main point is, we’re in a really good financial situation as a district, and we wouldn’t be doing this project and vision if we weren’t in a good situation. So I think that’s why we’re in it and I think that’s why our board is willing to do it, because it’s not putting more stress to it. We’re not adding to the property taxes. We’re replacing and making sure that we’re continuing to invest in our district and making sure that our families, our community have the best resources for our students.”

The Board then held the first reading of board policies 501.15 and 501.15r for chronic absenteeism and truancy, before approving the purchase of two 2019 school buses from Wayne Community School District, and dropping preschool snack fees from $1.75 to $1. They also held the first reading of the activities handbook, then approved the purchase of a new lighting console for the auditorium for $10,546.22.
