The Perry Chamber of Commerce is helping the community get back into the swing of things with school, hosting a special themed night during Thursday’s Farmer’s Market.

According to Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti, the organization is inviting people out the “Back to School Night” along downtown 2nd Street in Perry in anticipation of the new school year. She acknowledges that this year will look a little different because this is the week all teachers are back in the classroom, but Pasutti believes it will still be a great turnout.

“We are still celebrating back to school and turning the page, and the seasons change. And so it’s a fun night for the community to come out, but it’s really a fun night for DMACC and St. Pats to come out, someone from the (Perry) schools, it looks different every year that we’ve done it, but it’s just a fun way to get into fall and recognize that shift in our seasons.”

Pasutti reveals that the Perry Booster Club won’t make an appearance due to the timing. She adds that New Opportunities will be doing their School Supply Backpack Drive for people to contribute to. The farmer’s market will take place on Thursday, along downtown 2nd Street, in Perry from 4-7pm.
