First year Paton-Churdan high school volleyball coach Nikki Uebel talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the upcoming season. The Rockets open the regular season in Churdan on Aug. 26 vs Collins-Maxwell in non-conference play.

A number of players return from last season and the coach was asked about who may fill the role of setter. “We have Ella Tasler. She set some last year and she’s really solid, so we might use her all the way around. We also have Edynn Smith, a freshman who is showing some real promise setting, and even Chloe Happe doing some setting on the JV level, so we’ll use one or two setters, I’m just not sure yet.”

Smith the lone freshman listed on the nine person varsity roster posted on the Go Bound website. Madison Roper and Mia Russel are the only seniors, while Maggie Reed, Alivya Smith, Kaliyah Minnihan, Tasler, and Abbi Summers are juniors. Holly Miller is the only sophomore on that roster.
