There was a celebratory event in Panora Tuesday night.
The community was invited to the trail head by Pedal-In in Panora for the Grand Opening and a ribbon cutting for a Story Walk installed along the Raccoon River Valley Trail. The project was able to be completed with the combined efforts of the Panora Library and the Guthrie County Conservation Department. After the ribbon cutting, individuals were able to get a coupon for a free ice cream, the perfect treat for such a hot day. Conservation Director Brad Halterman and Library Board Member Deb Rockwell both said that this was a great partnership. They also shared that if there are any other communities, counties or entities that want to do a similar project, they should go for it, as it is a great way to get community involvement with trails, reading and exercise.
