Now that the Iowa State Fair is over and 4-H members around the area can relax a little, Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has a few reminders for Adair County members.

Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that enrollment for 4-H will begin on September 1st, and members will need to register before they’re able to take part in club activities for the new 4-H year. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio about another task for members to be completing if they haven’t already done so.

“This time of year, we start thinking about record books. So it is time to put all your projects into your record book to be judged and be honored at awards day. We do not have a date for that yet, but our awards day will be in November. Record books will be due to the office sometime in October. So as summer is winding down before school starts, be sure to get started on your record books.”

Savage mentions that registering for 4-H will need to be done on 4-H Online, and record books will need to be turned in at the Extension office in Greenfield. She adds that if individuals need help with either task, contact her and she will be able to help. Contact information can be found in this story online.
