Adel-DeSoto-Minburn now graduated senior Madi James is going to college outside the state of Iowa, but takes time to soak in the memories with the softball team.
James remained healthy for the 2025 season, appearing in all 38 games for the Tigers, leading the team with 120 at-bats. She scored 28 runs off 34 hits, including 22 singles, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, captured 20 RBIs, while successfully stealing 7 bases in her 7 attempts.
Defensively, James played in the left fielder position, acquiring a single assist with 35 putouts.
James made clutch plays during the 2025 state tournament for Class 4A, securing a leadoff double in the opening game against Dallas Center-Grimes which saw ADM go on to win 4-1, and then scored the game-winning run in the victory versus North Scott to achieve third place. She came to tears touching on what it’s meant to be apart of the Tiger program.
“Getting to score the last run felt really awesome, and I can’t thank enough for that. Also, just the overall five years that I’ve been here, it’s been a blessing and this team is so successful, and I can’t thank Coach Lindsay (Stanford) and Britt (Von Roden) enough for all that they’ve done for me and the other girls here. They get us to this position every year to get us a pink shirt and even though, during my five years, we haven’t got there yet, I’m blessed to be able to have been to Fort Dodge, and (represent) the top eight teams in Class 4A.”
ADM concluded the 2025 season with a 29-9 overall record (12-4; 2nd inside the Raccoon River Conference) and third place for Class 4A. James is attending college at the University of Arkansas, but will not be participating in any sports, just focused on academics.
