The leader of the Perry Community School District highlights all the work done to the facilities in the summer in preparation for the 2025-26 school year.

Starting with the elementary school, Superintendent Clark Wicks pinpoints that SitelogIQ put the finishing touches on the new playground with the final punch list items getting addressed. He notes that construction began in late May, and he is very impressed with the outcome.

“The playgrounds at Perry Elementary look outstanding and I think everything is going to go well, and I think the kids are really going to enjoy it. Also, by Perry Elementary, (there’s) Natalie’s Garden for a former teacher that passed (away) many years ago, but very suddenly, so we have Natalie’s Garden that got cleaned up and reduced, so it may be a more simple but yet very nice looking garden.”

Wicks shares that the front of Perry Middle School has been painted with the entrance area, and the gymnasiums in all the schools are being polished up. He adds that Landon Guhse has been hired as Perry’s Student Resource Officer for all the schools, as the Police Department will have a visible presence throughout the year.
