The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center (AC/GC) School Boards met in regular joint session Wednesday night.

Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that they had a few discussion topics before they moved on to the action items, which included him giving an update on the booster club golf tournament fundraiser from last month.

“We had a booster club golf tournament on July 26th, and they raised over $38,000. So, a fantastic event. The proceeds so far, they said (are) going to support our Hudl subscription, which allows our parents and family members from across the country to watch our football and basketball games. So they’re going to support that along with purchasing some uniforms for the junior high and high school. So just a thank you to everybody who organized the tournament, sponsored a team, whether they donated items or assisted with the dinner or purchased some auction items.”

Rasmussen tells Raccoon Valley Radio that after the discussion items, the Boards jointly approved the second reading of the student use of personal electronic devices policy, and student handbooks for the 2025-26 school year. He mentions that the AC Board then approved the purchase of a new baseball/softball scoreboard as the current one is no longer working, along with the first pay application to McKinnis Roofing for the roof replacement project.

Rasmussen explains that two other items the AC Board approved were how to dispose of the old roof rocks, and a Denovo facility conditions assessment update. He adds that the GC Board approved their own Denovo facility conditions assessment update, and a stair replacement survey, engineering and construction oversight proposal also from Denovo.
