A Grand Junction man was recently arrested for alleged domestic abuse assault.

According to court documents, Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the call of an apparent assault Thursday evening at a residence in Grand Junction. The criminal complaint states a witness told the deputy that the suspect, 33-year-old Travis Stanek, was upset and angry for an unknown reason when he approached the victim, and placed his hands around the victim’s neck. The court documents noted that the victim said Stanek had his hands on their neck for about one minute, and Stanek claimed it was only one second.

Court documents show that the deputy observed noticeable injuries that corroborated with the victim’s accounts. Stanek was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow. He was booked into the Greene County Jail.
