The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department recently announced when the hours for the outdoor swimming pool are changing.

According to JPRD, swimming hours for this weekend are on a normal schedule, but next week that will be adjusted to only adult lap swim from 11:30am-1pm Monday through Friday. JPRD Director Nathan Kral explains why the pool hours shift to just the adult lap swim next week.

“Typically when the kids go back to school, you know that’s our staff, the high school kids. So when they go back to school then it’s time to shut down the pool.” 

Kral adds that before the pool closes for the season, the annual Doggie Swim will be from 1-2:30pm where canines and their owners can enjoy a final swim.
