Principal Annie Smith said the 3rd Annual Back to School Bash was held on Thursday, where there was a variety of food trucks, interactive educational booths and musical entertainment from the Shuffle Couple of Dan and Emily Rohner. Smith noted that alongside the different food choices was the Greene County Pork Producers who served pork burgers to the first 250 people. She was also excited to see local entities that had booths at the event which included Greene County Public Health, Greene County ISU Extension, Greene County Medical Center, and the Paton and Churdan Public Libraries, among others.

Smith explained that the P-C School District wanted to continue having an event like this instead of a traditional open house because it provided a more memorable experience for the students, their families and staff with the anticipation of the new school year. She added that there were some new individuals that joined their staff including first grade teacher Autumn Gannon, third grade teacher Mazie Erdahl, while also welcoming back secondary English Language Arts teacher Jen Redenius and secondary science and special education Joe Towers.
