Law enforcement is reminding motorists of some safety tips when it comes to driving while there is tall corn in the rural areas.
According to Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante, tall corn can make it difficult for drivers to see around it, as well as creating obstacles for vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. He warns that drivers should take extra precautions on gravel roads.
“A lot of the county intersections that are gravel are uncontrolled. So make sure you slow down when you approach those intersections, you want to have a clear line of sight, and we don’t want any bad accidents, or any accidents at all due to corn.”
Infante believes the corn might’ve grown a little taller this year possibly due to the good amount of precipitation that’s affected the state of Iowa, which has caused flooding in the fields for the farmers.
