Greene County Development Corporation invites everyone to see the progress of a rental housing project happening in Jefferson.

According to GCDC, the Jeffersonian, the former middle school being converted into apartments, is having an open house tomorrow from 5:30-7:30pm. One of the leads for the housing project is Chris Deal and he says there will be 25 apartments, ranging from a studio to a three bedroom. He explains that there were several funding sources for a total of $8.5 million.

“This is one where we’ve had a significant amount of support both on the local level, the state level and even the federal level too, to make this all come together, and lots, and lots of people and organizations that have been involved in this over many years.”

GCDC Officials says the open house is a come-and-go, self-guided tour that only has stair access to the upper floors, due to ongoing construction. Attendees are to enter the east doors along East Vine Street.
