College football officially began on Saturday, with number 22 ranked Iowa State University picking up a huge victory over 17th-seeded Kansas State, 24-21 in Ireland, as former Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Running Back Aiden Flora was given big honors.
Flora was named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week as he started in the Punt Returner and Kick Returner position, recovering a fumble in the win. Cyclones Starting Quarterback Rocco Becht completed 14 of his 28 attempts for 183 yards, capturing two touchdowns through the air and one more with his legs.
The victory also happened to be the 100th one for Head Coach Matt Campbell. ISU features redshirt Sophomore Vince Benetti, who also attended ADM High School. The Cyclones will take their 1-0 record back to Ames to host South Dakota on Saturday at 2:30pm.
