Coach Chris Heisterkamp and her Greene County High School volleyball squad begin the 2025 season today. A road trip to Grimes for a quadrangular at 5 p.m. inside the Meadows Gym at Dallas Center-Grimes High School will get things going for the Rams.

Greene County is not tip-toeing into the season as all three teams they face are ranked by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Valley (West Des Moines) is number 7 in Class 5A in the preseason rankings, with Ballard (Huxley) ranked ninth in 4A and the host Mustangs at number 13 in 4A.

The Rams are a 3A program that is coming off a 2024 record of 11 wins and 17 losses. There were seven seniors on that team, six of whom played a lot. There are a handful of varsity returners for Greene County, but others will be seeing substantial varsity minutes for the first time.
