The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

The board approved a bid for the new Sheriff’s Office Evidence Storage and Firing Range projects. Farnsworth Group Architect Principal Kristofer Orth reviewed the bidders and the board approved their recommendation of Jensen Builders, with an amount of $486,215 for the building concrete work and $129,120 for the site work. The board also accepted a guaranteed maximum price amendment for $4,415,451 relating to the evidence storage and firing range.

Other items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution to honor a request by the Des Moines Christian School District to purchase 0.32 acres for a wetland mitigation project, appoint Oliver Bardwell to the County Board of Health with a term ending on December 12th, 2026, a vehicle purchase for the Sheriff’s Office for a 2025 Ford Interceptor for $46,900 to replace a 2023 model that was recently involved in a crash, along with resolutions for the homestead and disabled veteran homestead tax credits, military exemption, as well as some disallowances for disabled veteran homestead tax credit.
