Tomorrow is the big check in day for the Guthrie County Fair.

Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Rachel Muir mentions that it is 4-H and FFA check-in day, with exhibitors bringing in their livestock to prepare for shows after tomorrow. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that things kick off at 9am, with open class art exhibit judging, as well as check in for open class agriculture entries, and the start of livestock check-in.

“From 9-10:30 is (the) swine weigh-in. (From) 10am to 2pm is 4-H FFA poultry and rabbit check-in. (Then) 11am to 12:30pm is sheep and goat check-in, and our livestock office opens from 1-5pm.”

Muir mentions that the beef weigh-in and ultrasound is from 1-3pm, with the junior cattle feeders weigh-in to follow from 3-5pm, and horse check-in from 3-4pm. Free carnival rides will be from 5-9pm, with the Bill Riley Talent Show at the Little Amphitheater at 7pm. Admittance to the fair for tomorrow is also free for the day.
