On Tuesday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs volleyball team played host to the Greene County Rams, Ballard Bombers and West Des Moines Valley Tigers for the Mustang Volleyball Invitational. The Mustangs would win two out of three matches, defeating Greene County 2-1, Ballard 2-1 but would fall to Valley 2-0.

Ava Smid and Madison Messerly would find success on the outside on the attack with multiple kills throughout the night. Smid would help carry the Mustangs over Greene County and Ballard, while Messerly would help keep the Mustangs in the fight against Valley in their 23-21 and 21-19 close battles against the Tigers.

With two wins already under their belt, DCG volleyball returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Unity Christian High School in Orange City for the Unity Christian volleyball tournament.
